Science
At Royd we aim to stimulate and excite all our children into using their investigative and exploratory skills to discover new things!
To enable us to produce inquiring and enthusiastic scientists we present opportunities for the children to make observations, explore, perform investigations, problem solve, make things, pattern. We develop useful knowledge, skills and attitudes about the world in which we live such as healthy eating, investigations, plants/growth, strong materials, forces, sound and minibeasts. The children’s science experience is presented to the children in a practical, relevant context. Science is also a time for the children to be encouraged to work through whole class, group or individual investigations and project work, designed to arouse the children’s natural curiosity.
At Royd we want enthusiastic scientists that want to work out why things are what they are and why things do what they do.
