Being considerate
As part of “Celebration Assembly” on a Friday school celebrate children’s achievements. Children are rewarded for their hard work and quality of their work through receiving the Reader, Writer and Mathematician of the week t-shirts that they wear proudly during school. Children are also handed certificates and awards for other areas that they have excelled in. Furthermore, children also have the opportunity to celebrate their birthday where they receive a slice of birthday cake. Royd has now introduced its “School Values” into “Celebration Assembly”. A “School Value” is a principle that guides our thinking and our behaviour. At Royd, every individual is valued for who they are and what they contribute to the school. Values are intended to support the personal, social and spiritual development of every pupil throughout the school. Below is a list of Royd’s eight values:
- Achieving your Potential
- Making good choices
- Being responsible
- Being considerate
- Doing your best
- Taking pride
- Collaborating with other
- Respecting others
We would really appreciate you taking the time to reinforce the school’s values with your child and explain what each of them mean and look like not only in school but also at home. Each week one child per class will receive a certificate linked to a school value. These will be displayed on social media
