The children in Reception have had a brilliant arts week where they based all of their art activities on the story ‘The Foggy Foggy Forest’. Throughout the fortnight, the children have used different media and materials to create lots of fantastic artwork. The children used molded and manipulated clay to create toadstools, which were then painted really carefully once they were dry. We used various collage materials to create the different characters from the story including the ogre doing yoga and the unicorn playing a horn. The children used wax crayons to draw fireworks and then painted a black wash over the top to create some fantastic wax resist pictures. Other activities include making magic wands and using dolly pegs to make Fairy Queens. All of the children worked really hard and thoroughly enjoyed all of the arts week activities. The children’s amazing art work is proudly displayed in school.
