The school councils from Royd Nursery Infant School and Deepcar St John’s CE Junior School visited Stocksbridge Town Council as part of this academic year’s elections. The children discussed a range of things that they felt were important to them and the local community. They discussed Remembrance Day and the Poppy Project that Stocksbridge Town Council are currently running. Throughout the local area you will see Poppy’s displayed on lampposts that feature the names of local people and which war they served their country in. School will be doing a follow up assembly when the children return to discuss Remembrance Day and what the Poppy represents. A huge thank you to Stocksbridge Town Council for hosting us.
