Well, what a busy start to our term! Our topic is called ‘Why do spiders eat flies?’ . So far in our topic we have spoken about all the different minibeasts we might find in our gardens, we then enjoyed going outdoors and exploring the Foundation Stage yard to see which ones we could find. We have also been learning about plants and what a plant needs to grow. The children have enjoyed planting their own sunflower seeds and watching them grow over time, there have been lots of discussions around whose is the tallest and predictions about what would happen if we didn’t water them etc. We always enjoy linking our topics to the maths that we are doing and the children have completed tasks such as 1 more and 1 less than flowers as well as ladybird additions.
