Grenoside Woods trip with the Wildlife Trust

The children have enjoyed a trip to Grenoside Woods where they worked with the Wildlife Trust. During our ‘Why do spiders eat flies?’ topic the children thoroughly enjoyed learning all about mini-beasts so this was the perfect trip for our children! We had a brilliant morning where we took part in pond-dipping and a mini-beast hunt. We learnt how to safely use the nets to use in the pond and found different creatures including a baby newt, a dragonfly and pond snails. When searching for mini-beasts we found woodlice, spiders and centipedes. Thank you to all the volunteers who came along to help us!
